She spent her childhood years in Rancho Cucamonga, which is an affluent city situated at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County, California. It is located 37 miles east of Downtown Los Angeles. During her time in high school, Kingsland was able to attend the Cosmetology Career Center. It was a Community College program funded by her high school.

It gave their students the chance to learn professional skills that could be applied after graduation. She enjoyed her time there very much and decided to continue her beauty studies at the local Community College. After working as a beautician in her neighborhood for a couple of years, she made a life-changing decision to move the most popular city in the state.

In Los Angeles, the amount of ladies to reach as clients was much bigger. Having more clients meant more income for the young beautician and a greater chance to gain experience and open up her own business. Carin felt it was worth the risk to move to the famous city so that she could seek better career opportunities.
